How Invisalign Works
Despite the aligners being clear, Invisalign works in a similar manner as traditional braces. Controlled forces are still being carefully applied to teeth so that they can be moved into a better position.
Before aligners can be created, however, a plan will be designed for you using a specialized computer software. Your plan will consist of several dozen stages and within each stage, will be a set of aligners.
Top and bottom aligners are to be worn for a few weeks at a time and must be kept on for a minimum of 22 hours each day. You will be expected to progress through each provided aligner until treatment is complete.
How to Care for Your Teeth During Treatment
Throughout your Invisalign treatment, you will need to be diligent about teeth cleaning to ensure the clear aligners do not become stained or trap bacteria.
We recommend that you brush your teeth after every meal or snack. Be sure to also clean the aligners regularly by brushing them and rinsing them with lukewarm water.
